US07678085B2 Injection device
An injection device for injecting selectable amounts of a substance includes an activating mechanism including an axially moveable operating button which can rotated in a resting position only, a tubular drive element non-rotatably connected to the operating button, an axially fixed and non-rotatable guiding element, and an axially moveable driven member held non-rotatably in the device. A rotational grid is operationally between rotatable and non-rotatable components of the injection device such that the operating button can be moved two rotational directions when in the resting position whereby a selected amount of the substance to be injected can be selectively varied. For example, a dosage inadvertently selected too large by rotating the operating button too far in one direction can, in accordance with the present invention, be reduced by rotating the operating button in the opposite direction. In some embodiments, the rotational grid is adapted to produce a clicking sound when the operating button is rotated.

US07678071B2 Microprocessor controlled ambulatory medical apparatus with hand held communication device
An implantable infusion pump possesses operational functionality that is, at least in part, controlled by software operating in two processor ICs which are configured to perform some different and some duplicate functions. The pump exchanges messages with an external device via telemetry. Each processor controls a different part of the drug infusion mechanism such that both processors must agree on the appropriateness of drug delivery for infusion to occur. Delivery accumulators are incremented and decremented with delivery requests and with deliveries made. When accumulated amounts reach or exceed, quantized deliverable amounts, infusion is made to occur. The accumulators are capable of being incremented by two or more independent types of delivery requests. Operational modes of the infusion device are changed automatically in view of various system errors that are trapped, various system alarm conditions that are detected, and when excess periods of time lapse between pump and external device interactions.

US07678067B1 Apparatus for providing dorsiflexion assistance in ankle foot orthoses and night splints
An apparatus for providing dorsiflexion assistance in an orthotic device having ankle and foot sections joined by a hinge connection. The orthotic device may be, for example, an ankle foot orthotic or a night splint. The apparatus includes an elastic member, such as an elastomeric strap, having a first end that is attached to an upper portion of the ankle section of the orthotic device, and a cable that connects a second end of the elastic member to the foot section of the device at a position that is spaced anteriorly from the hinge connection, so that tension supplied by the elastic member creates dorsiflexion torque about the hinge connection. A tension adjuster is provided to allow the amount of torque to be adjusted to meet individual needs. An optional cable guard protects the cable from interference, and can also be used as a cable stop that effectively increases dorsiflexion force to compensate for loss of tension due to shortening of the elastic member upon dorsiflexion. The cable member may be attached to the foot section by routing it through a channel in a bridge piece under the arch area of the foot section of the device. The characteristics and amount of torque can be adjusted by adjusting the distance by which the cable attachment is spaced anteriorly (forward) of the hinge connection. The assist apparatus can readily be mounted to existing orthotic devices without requiring significant modification of the latter.

The CNIBP monitor calculates an estimated blood pressure that is supplied to the NIBP monitor. The NIBP monitor utilizes the continuous, estimated blood pressure to select a target inflation pressure for the blood pressure cuff. During operation of the NIBP monitor, the size of the pressure steps from the initial inflation pressure to a final pressure can be varied based upon the continuous blood pressure estimate from the NIBP monitor.
US07678056B2 Array rotation for ultrasound catheters

The rotation of the catheter housing may limit the total amount of rotation of the array, such as rotating the array through a 90 degree or less amount of rotation about the longitudinal axis. The housing of the catheter is formed with a soft section. The softer material allows for a greater amount or increased ease for twisting the catheter.

US07677993B2 Tennis backboard
The invention provides a new tennis backboard design. The backboard includes a firm backing layer underlying a soft deadening layer. The rebound of a tennis ball from the backboard is reduced as compared to rebound from a rigid hard-surface backboard. This allows a player to stand fairly close to the backboard, which reduces misses. The player can stand fairly close and hit balls hard against the backboard. Because the rebound is reduced, the ball simply bounces back softly and easily to the player, allowing the player to hit hard again from a fairly short distance. Thus, long rallies without missing are easily achieved. Since the bounce is reduced, the player can stand closer to the backboard, and therefore the backboard can be smaller than conventional backboards without the player missing the backboard. This allows the backboard to be light, portable, and easily stored. Because of the addition of a soft deadening layer, the firm backing layer of the backboard can also be thin and made of lighter and weaker material than a conventional backboard, reducing the weight of the backboard.

US07677489B2 Wire caddy
The wire caddy is designed to hold single or multiple spools of electrical wire commonly used in the building trades. This device allows wire spools to be inserted onto a support shaft and retained onto the support shaft by insertion of a retaining pin through retaining pin holes in the end of the support shaft. Wire is guided off the spool through a guide hole in the support bracket. The diameter of the support shaft is smaller than the diameter of the wire spool end plate center holes. The center line of the support shaft is positioned higher than the center line of the wire spool end plate holes. This creates a gap between the bottom of the support shaft and the edge of the wire spool hole. Thereby the wire spool is resting on and supported by the friction plate, and not the support shaft. Upon applying an upward pulling force, the wire spool is lifted off the friction plate allowing for uncoiling of the wire. Once the pulling force is stopped, the weight of the wire spool will force the wire spool end plates down onto a friction plate that will stop the turning momentum of the wire spool, causing the wire spool to stop quickly. By stopping the turning momentum quickly, turns of wire on the spool will not uncoil themselves thus preventing entanglement with each other.

US07677341B2 Hybrid vehicle and control method of hybrid vehicle
When the driver heavily depresses an accelerator pedal to start a hybrid vehicle in an engine stop condition, the control of the invention waits until elapse of a preset wait time and then starts outputting a torque equivalent to a preset torque demand to a ring gear shaft or a driveshaft. The open-assist mechanism is allowed to rotate around the same pivot used by the blade, and includes a lug that interacts with the kick of the blade when rotated. Because the open-assist mechanism is not mechanically linked to the blade, it has a range of free motion that promotes safety, and allows the mechanism to rotate into the blade cavity when the blade is extended. The folding knife also may have a carabiner that shares the blade cavity with the blade, with the blade nesting into the carabiner to save space, thereby giving the folding knife a smaller profile.

Then measuring the impedance of the test coupon to reveal the actual depth of the back drilling of the coupon via. Knowing the actual back drill depth of the coupon via is used to verify the back drill depth of the board via.
US07676916B2 Electronic component mounting system and electronic component mounting method
In an electronic component mounting method of mounting electronic components on a substrate by means of soldering by using an electronic component mounting system having a screen printing apparatus and an electronic component mounting apparatus connected to each other to manufacture a mounting substrate, prior to a screen printing process, the positions of pattern holes provided in a screen mask are measured to calculate mask aperture data, and the coordinates of a mounting position when a component mounting operation is performed by a mounting head are calculated, on the basis of the mask aperture data. In this way, it is possible to calculate the positional deviation of solder, without measuring the position of solder after printing whenever the solder is printed, and to prevent defects in mounting due to the positional deviation of solder, which results in high productivity.
