CONSTITUTION: The water content of an org. fibrous material such as sawdust or chipped bark is controlled to 8W12wt%. The fibrous material is then impregnated with 0.5W4wt% mineral hydrocarbon having a sulfur content of 0.3wt% or below, i.e., gas oil, and compression-molded at 150W190°C into the desired shape to prepare a fuel pellet. An oily film is formed on the surface of the pellet and hence the waterproofness is improved so that the deterioration of fuel with time can be prevented and environmental pollution caused by sulfur- contg. compds. can be removed.
