Under the suction stroke the solenoid operated valve 4 is opened to sink pistons 6, 9 of the pre-pressurizer 5 and pressure booster 7, so that air is sucked into the plunger chamber in the pressure booster 7 and the methanol fuel is fed into this plunger chamber. Under subsequent compression stroke the mixture gas is pressed forward to the pressure accumulator 15, and the solenoid operated valve 4 is shut in the final period of the stroke. By this 2-system operation, the pressure accumulator 15 attains its critical condition in one second approx. after commencement of cranking, and the thoroughly gasified combustible mixture gas is fed into the cylinder.
