CONSTITUTION: A flame detector 19 is installed to detect the presence of remaining flame in a combustion chamber 9A or the like. Initial purging is carried out until a remaining flame indication signal transmitted from the detector has disappeared. Then, post purging is carried out from the time when the remaining flame has disappeared up to the point when a fire extinction setting time T has elapsed. When the remaining flame detection signal is output even after a fire extinction setting time 't' has elapsed, the initial purging is continued as it is. Warning forecast is given so as to inform emergency while operating the machine in normal mode. This construction makes it possible to finish post-purging in a short time when a control sequence applicable to LPG gas is used for the ignition of city gas or natural gas.
