CONSTITUTION: Tank 3 is provided on the top of coke furnace 1 to store coal or petroleum tar, anthracene, pitch, or tar sludge. The substance stored in tank 3 is passed through pipes 11, 12, and 13 and jetted into carbonization chamber 8. The jetted tar thermally decomposes to form free carbon and the carbon sticks and piles on the inner walls and joint parts in the carbonization chamber 8 to form carbon films. When needed, further tank 3A is provided and tar is jetted through pipe 12A and nozzle 6A into carbonization chamber 8.
EFFECT: Finely powdered refractory and mortar are unnecessary for repairing and the production of coke furnace gas is increased.
