Each unit 1 is placed between vertical guide frames 14 attached to the inside of a reactor by moving the hoist along a rail, and it is suspended downward while engaging members 6 of unit 1 with frames 14. Similarly, other units 1 are piled up in succession. Hundle 21 is then rotated to move each unit 1 in the exhaust gas flow direction of arrows A14 by means of pressing pin 20, and member 6 and frame 14 facing to the exhaust gas downstream side are brought into contact with each other to fix unit 1. Accordingly, exhaust gas is surely passed through catalyst 9.
