CONSTITUTION: As a corrosion rate of cooling pipes 6 progresses, an arithmetic unit 8 detects the corrosion speed through a corrosion speed measuring probe 7, and the corrosion speed is compared with a reference value in a comparator 9. From the comparator 9, an output signal corresponding to the comparison deviation value is passed to an electrolysis apparatus 2 and the dissolving electric current is increased. Thus the production of ferrous ions is increased to inhibit the corrosion of the cooling pipes 6. When the corrosion has reached below the reference value, the deviation in the comparator 9 becomes 0, and the dissolving action of ferrous ions by the electrolysis apparatus 2 can be stopped. Thus the corrosion can be suitably and automatically prevented.
