On the other hand, transparent opposite electrode 7 is formed on glass substrate 6, and liq. crystal substance 8 is filled into the space between electrodes 5, 7. Since reflecting electrode 5 is not corroded by an electrolyte contained in substance 8, a liq. crystal display device having a long life is obtd.
