CONSTITUTION: Foamable thermoplastic resin particles are dispersed in an aq. NaCl soln. at high temp. and immersed for about a day and night. The resulting mixture is then poured into hot water at about 80°C to expand with mixing by agitation. Then cold water is added to the resulting soln. to stop foaming of the foamable thermoplastic resin. Thermoplastic resin particles foamed in a closed-cell structure with approximately uniform expansivity are given by filtration by meand of a centrifuge or the like. The resulting foamed thermoplastic resin particles are blended with an aqueous emulsion coating, extender, thickener, titanium white, etc. to yield the intended stucco.
