Segments S and T passing the middle points of sides of the square of a bottom (L=1/2) 18 of pyramids 16 and 17 indicate the axes of coordinates of color, and a minimum value and a maximum value on the axis S indicate green and red respectively, and those on the axis T indicate yellow and blue respectively. Picture information stored in a memory 10 is converted from RGB values to LST values by a converter 13 under the control of a CPU 15 and is stored in an LST frame buffer 12. This color data is converted to RGB values by an LST-RGB decoder 14 and is displayed on an RGB monitor 11.
