In terms of an intermediate expression 23 available from the result, the case which cannot be omitted in English surface layer sentence but omitted in the input sentence is investigated, and a noun stack 24 is retrieved if the omitted phrase is obtained. Thus with respect to the source language for including the omitted phrase, a correct target language can be generated in terms of grammar with the use of an appropriate pronoun, etc., thereby improving the quality of the translated sentence.
