Thereby, the answering voice synthesizing circuit 7 is still disconnected from the communication circuit 3 and audio answering is not executed. In case of manual calling, the calling side does not generate a CNG signal after calling. Thereby, the decision circuit on the called side turns a changeover switch 9 after the passage of a prescribed time and connect the circuit 7 to the line 3. Then, the circuit 7 generates an answer with voice, and after the end of the answering, turns the switch 9 to connect a MODEM 6 to the line 3 and then executes the normal facsimile procedure.
