Meanwhile, unit 6 of search algorithm generates a code concerning transition between binary code values of terminal 2 and parallel trees, and the position of electronic switch 8 is determined by code generation circyit 7 to obtain an optimum demodulation signal. That is, the waveform of the input signal is directly coded, and one bit is assigned per each input signal according to a parallel tree search method to code it, so that a low data transmission speed approximating a linear forecasting coder can be obtained.
