2 to ≤-0.3V is prevented at the time of change-over to the coloration and decoloration and, therefore, the ECD terminal voltage does not exceed 0.3V and does not exceed the forward voltage 0.6V of the p-n junction of an IC circuit formed by a silicon substrate. The flow of the large current from the IC driving circuit and the consequent malfunction or breakdown of the IC circuit are thereby prevented.
