CONSTITUTION: A T-shaped coupling 3 with a branch port 33 uses a packng compression type joint for one of its axial ends and a screw joint for the remainder. For applying this nipple, the screw of a lower pipe 1 is previously joined with the axial thread 31 of of the nipple 3 to make a unit. Then a non-threaded end of another pipe 2 is inserted in the upper end of the nipple, a push ring 4 is fastened a thread 32, a packing 5 is compressed through a collar 6 to the pipe 2 for eliminat ing any leak. A hexagon socket head bolt 7 is fastened to make its tip bite in the pipe 2 for fixing. Since the nipple 3 is previously united with a pipe, it is easy to join such units with each other, which can simplify the piping work, reduce the number of parts of processes and can accordingly reduce the cost of piping.
