USE: An agricultural and horticultural fungicide. It has no phytotoxicity to crops, and exhibits strong fungicidal activity to a wide variety of plant pathogens. Especially, it has remarkable and exact controlling effect against powdery mildew.
PREPARATION: A compound of formula I wherein X is group of formula II can be produced by reacting the compound of formula III (Hal is halogen) with the compound of formula Ar-H. The product can be converted to another compound of formula I wherein X is CO by reduction.
