CONSTITUTION: Gypsum powder composed mainly of CaSO
4 .2H
2 O and obtained as a by-product of various industrial processes, is compounded with proper amounts of (A) blackstrap molasses, fermentation waste liquid, wood digestion waste liquid, or dried powder obtained therefrom, (B) a magnesia-containing basic material such as carbide furnace dust, and (C) a mineral acid such as sulfuric acid. Granulation and drying of the mixture affords the objective granular gypsum having high crushing strength and pulverization resistance and excellent handleability. It can be used as a soil improver, a component of bulk blend fertilizer, a cement additive, etc.
