In measuring the position by GPS, improper satellites the measuring accuracy of which may be prone to be deteriorated are removed and a plurality of remaining satellites are selected. When a positional information is received from an antenna at the road side by a beacon Rx23 during the running time of the vehicle, the current position of the vehicle is changed to the position represented by the information, and at the same time, the satellites the measuring accuracy of which may be reduced if used for the GPS measure ment are extracted and registered as improper satellites. Therefore, the improper satellites are not used for a predetermined succeeding time.
