184 ILLUMINATION ARRANGEMENT FOR ILLUMINATING HORTICULTURAL GROWTHS EP09786505.9 2009-07-03 EP2323472A1 2011-05-25 WAUMANS, Lars, R., C.; JACOBS, Joseph, H., A., M.; VAN ECHTELT, Esther, M.; MARINUS, Antonius, A., M.
The invention provides an illumination arrangement (1) for illuminating horticultural growths (100) with for instance LEDs as a light source. These LEDs are placed in a lighting unit (10). The lighting unit may especially have the ability to direct substantially all light from the light source (here the LEDs) to the horticultural growths (in the greenhouse). Additionally, a horticultural growth-recognition system (50) can be implemented in the illumination arrangement, so that the system can adapt for instance its beam (11) to the location of the horticultural growth (s) (in the case of growth or moving of plants, etc).
185 Bulk preservative storage of horticultural crops and pigments produced from green horticultural crops US229176 1981-01-28 US4369197A 1983-01-18 Richard M. Basel; Wilbur A. Gould
Horticultural crops may be stored in an acidic aqueous liquor at a temperature not exceeding about room temperature wherein the pH of the liquor is sufficiently low and the storage conditions are adequately starved of molecular oxygen to retard spoilage of the stored product. Following termination of the storage, the stored product is preferably at least partially neutralized at a temperature of between about 40.degree. and 60.degree. F. with a neutralizing agent to raise the pH of the stored product. When green horticultural crops are thus stored and thereafter boiled, a strong green coloration is produced and green pigments can be separated by solvent extraction.

Sunburn and insect damage to fruit and vegetable crops is significantly reduced by treatment of both fruit and foliage with a preventative amount of a wax emulsion comprising a matrix of complex hydrocarbons, an emulsifying agent and water. In the practice of this invention the sunburn and insect protective composition is further diluted in an aqueous solution that is sprayable by commercial applicators.

PURPOSE: To obtain a growth-activating agent containing a water soluble vitamin K 3 derivative such as menadione sodium hydrogensulfite as an active ingredient and capable of reducing phytotoxicity by herbicide for crops by applying the agent before or after application of herbicide or together with application thereof. CONSTITUTION: The aimed growth activating agent obtained by directly using a water soluble vitamin K 3 derivative (e.g. menadione sodium hydrogensulfite (e.g. menadione potassium hydrogensulfite, menadioldiphosphoric ester tetra sodium salt or 4-amino-3-methyl-1-naphthol.hydrochloride) or preparing the above-mentioned derivative in a form of powder, emulsion, hydrate, liquid or spray. The aimed agent is used e.g. by a method forming the agent into a powder coating agent using a diluent and coating a seed with the powder coat ing agent or method dipping a seed into the agent dissolved in a diluent such as water or method applying the agent to soil or crop before or after application of herbicide and can reduce phytotoxicity by the herbicide. 199 Vorrichtung zur Bewässerung von Bäumen und sonstigen gärtnerischen Kulturen in der Nähe von Gebäuden EP80103383.8 1980-06-18 EP0021334A1 1981-01-07 Weingärtner, Sepp, Dipl.-Ing. Dr.
