PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect swerve of a scanned image, to provide notification of the swerve when an original document is scanned, and to receive an instruction to rescan the swerved original document image.
SOLUTION: When there is a request to scan an original document, such as a copy job, a scanning processing for the original document image is executed by an image input A. On this occasion, when a plurality of original documents are sent out one by one using an ADF to carry the one to a scanning position, the original document may be obliquely scanned. For this reason, an original document image inputted from the image input A and a format image stored in an image storage B are combined in an image combining section C, and information of the combined image is checked in an image swerve detector D so as to judge the presence or absence of the image swerve. In the case of presence of the image swerve, warning is issued through a warning section E or a display unit F. In the case of such original documents to be read that image swerve is always recognized, enable/disable switching section G is switched to a disable mode so as not to issue any warning from the warning section E and so on.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time from the depression of a start switch to a first copy by setting the speed of the movement of an original-document table in the friction of reverse scan according to a difference between a prescribed target-termperature and a detection temperature. SOLUTION: In response to the depression of the start switch on a console panel 21, a CPU 20 first fetches the detection temperature T1 of a temperature detector 19 obtained when the start switch is depressed. Subsequently, it calculates a difference ΔT(ΔT=T0-T1) between the obtained detection temperature T1 and the target temperature T0, and then calculates the rotating speed of a pulse motor 15 according to the obtained difference ΔT, and generates a pulse matching the obtained rotating speed. The smaller the ΔT becomes, the higher the rotating speed of the pulse motor 15, that is, the speed of the movement of the original-document table 3 to an image-formation start position is made. Thus, the higher the temperature of a heat fixing-unit 12 is, the sooner it increases to the target temperature T0, and the time required for the first copy is shortened. |

PURPOSE:To make the efficient processing possible by carrying an original document to another tray after the first reading and leading the original document from this tray to a reading part for following reading when the original document is read plural times. CONSTITUTION:A sheet in the bottom of a set of original documents placed on a tray 1 of an original document feeder A is separated and carried and goes to sheet paths (a) (b) (c) (d) and is inserted between the belt 25 of a circulating original document feeder B and a platen 26. Then, an optical system is operated to perform the exposure copy process for the original document. After exposure, the original document is carried to a tray 27 through sheet paths (h) (i) (j). After the processing of a prescribed number of original documents is terminated, original documents on the tray 27 are separated and carried in order from the bottom sheet, and each original document is sent to paths (j) (i) (h) (f) and is subjected to the exposure copy process. The original document is ejected onto a tray 24 through paths (f) (d) (b) (c) (e). Hereafter, originals documents on the tray 27 are processed similarly. |

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original-document carrying device capable of steadily carrying an original document by the use of only one single small motor and also capable of driving a PS roller by the motor by reducing carrying load and minimizing load on the motor in the original-document carrying device of a double-sided original-document handling type.
SOLUTION: Accompanying the rotation of the motor 70, in the case where the motor 70 normally rotates, a paper ejection roller 33 normally rotates for carrying the original document 3 in the direction of paper ejection, and in the case where the motor 70 reversely rotates, it reversely rotates for carrying the original document 3 to an inversion carrying path 36. On the other hand, in the case of the normal rotation of the motor 70, the PS roller 32 normally rotates to feed the original document 3 to an original-document reading position, and in the case of the reverse rotation of the motor 70, it stops the rotation by the release of a clutch 71.

PURPOSE:To efficiently process an original document by not performing the read processing of partitioning materials, indicating boundaries of sets of original document. CONSTITUTION:Partitioning papers 300A-300D which set modes of respective sets of original documents are inserted to bottoms of a set D1 of single-sided original documents a set D2 of single-sided original documents, and two sets D3 and D4 of both sides original documents. A single sheet separating and carrying mechanism is driven by a copy start signal, and the partitioning paper 300A of the set D1 is separated and carried and is fed into a sheet path. When processings of sets D1-D3 are performed successively hereafter to complete ejection of the last original document P1 of the set D3, the partitioning paper 300D is set to a platen. Since this set partitioning paper is not an original document, the copying operation is not performed. Thus, the processing is performed more quickly because unnecessary copying is not performed and the processing speed is increased. |

An automatic document feeder includes a feeding path and a plurality of feed roller sets. Through the feeding path, an original document is fed in one direction from a paper supply port to a paper discharge port. The plurality of the feed roller sets are arranged along the feeding path to be spaced apart from each other. When one side of an original document is scanned and when both sides of an original document are scanned, the plurality of the feed roller sets nip the original document to feed the original document along the feeding path. In this case, the plurality of the feed roller sets are all involved in feeding the original document. |
