본 발명은 소정의 방송방식의 복합동기신호와 수평동기신호와의 관계에 의해서 영상신호처리시스에서 홀수필드와 짝수필드를 구분할 수 있는 홀/짝필드검출회로에 관한 것이다. 수직동기신호구간에 있는 SERR펄스의 로우폭이 다른 펄스에 비해 넓은 것을 이용해서 인가되는 복합동기신호를 인버터시켜 카운터의 인에이블단에 연결하고 외부클럭신호를 인가받아서 수직동기신호의 하이인 구간에 카운터를 동작시키므로 인버트된 복합동기신호의 상태에서 SERR펄스를 분리해내고 분리된 SERR펄스와 수평동기신호와의 관계를 비교해서 짝수필드와 홀수필드르 판별하게 된다.

Multi-mode predictive interpolative systems and methods for interlaced video sequences use past even fields as well as current and past odd fields to code current even fields. Block matching units (40, 42, 44) find for each block of pixels of a current even field to be coded, the corresponding block which matches it most closely in the current odd field, the past odd field and a past even field and calculate appropriate motion vectors corresponding to the best matched blocks. Based on the best matched blocks, and averages thereof, the best mode generator (60) selects a best mode block which most closely matches the block to be coded and derives an error block representing the pixel by pixel differences between the block to be coded and the best mode block. Signals representing the error block, the mode chosen, and the motion vectors corresponding thereto are then sent for transmission for use by a decoder.

PURPOSE: To improve the reliability of video signal processing by using hardware so as to detect odd/even number fields of the video signal. CONSTITUTION: A counter section 100 detects a vertical pulse signal and sets a Q output of a JK FF 30 to 'H'. A counter section 200 starts counting when a Q output of an FF 30 reaches 'H' and provides an output of a window signal whose level is maintained at 'H' at a time of 60 μsec. Then a Q output of a JK FF 80 goes to 'H' only when the window signal is at 'H' and a horizontal synchronizing pulse signal is delivered as an output of an AND gate 90. Thus, an output of the AND gate 90 of a detection section 300 applies a clock signal to a DFF 95 after about 15 μec when a Q output of the FF 80 goes to 'H' in the case of an even number field and after about 46 μsec when a Q output of the FF 80 goes to 'H' in the case of an odd number field. Thus, an interlace scanning video signal is processed by the hardware and then odd/ even number fields are detected with high reliability.
