DESCRIPTION

"Bed"

[0001] The present invention relates to a bed.

[0002] As is well known, a bed is a piece of furniture intended to rest and sleep, constructed so that one can remain in a horizontal position; it is also known that the bed can be considered the preferential place where sexual intercourse is usually carried out, which are often also defined with expressions like "going to bed with someone."

[0003] Sexual intercourse may imply several physical difficulties due to the mutual positioning between the partners as well as a considerable expenditure of energy. These difficulties are further exacerbated among people with mobility difficulties and/or disabilities.

[0004] The object of the present invention is to provide a bed suitable for aiding and assisting the execution of sexual intercourse, in such a way as to overcome the above difficulties.

[0005] In fact, the bed of the present invention is suitable for assisting the execution of the sexual intercourse between partners, specifically assisting them in their mutual movements and/or in their mutual positioning.

[0006] In other words, the bed of the present invention has the purpose of providing assistance in the execution of sexual intercourse to partners which, for example, have mobility difficulties or disabilities.

[0007] The bed of the present invention is suitable for making the positioning between the partners more comfortable, in such a way that they may maintain, with the least effort and for a certain period of time, a predefined position assumed, and for assisting the intercourse movements, for example their frequency or their speed, between the two.

[0008] Such objects are achieved by a bed according to claim 1. Further advantages and features will become apparent from the bed object of the present invention according to the dependent claims.

[0009] The features and the advantages of the bed will appear more clearly from the following description, made by way of an indicative and non-limiting example according to the accompanying figures, in which:

[0010] - figure 1 shows a perspective view of the bed of the present invention;

[0011] - figures 2a and 2b are two perspective views of the bed in figure 1 in which the second portion is

[0012] in a rest position and in a

[0013] rearward position, respectively;

[0014] - figures 3a and 3b are two perspective views of the bed of the present invention wherein the second portion is in a lowered position and is in a rest position and a rearward position, respectively, wherein both figures show the first portion rotated;

[0015] - figures 4a and 4b are two perspective views of the bed of the present invention wherein both figures show the first portion in a raised position and the second portion is in a rest position and a lowered-rearward position, respectively;

[0016] - figure 5 is a representative figure with dashed lines to show the components included inside the bed of the present invention according to one embodiment.

[0017] With reference to the accompanying figures, reference numeral 1 globally indicates a bed assisting the execution of sexual intercourse between partners.

[0018] Preferably, bed 1 assists the partners in carrying out the sexual intercourse partner assisting them in positioning and keeping predefined positions, as well as in their reciprocal movements. In particular, in fact, bed 1 object of the present invention, in addition to fulfilling the typical function of being a place to rest and sleep in as it is made so that one can stay in a horizontal position, includes several mobile portions in such a way as to allow and assist the movements and reciprocal positioning between the partners. [0019] In particular, the bed extends in length along a longitudinal axis X-X, in width along a transversal axis Y-Y and in height along a vertical axis Z-Z.

[0020] According to a preferred embodiment, bed 1 comprises a first portion 10 and a second portion 20, which in a rest position are positioned adjacently to each other, for example along the longitudinal axis X-X, along a substantially horizontal plane forming the bed to sleep.

[0021] During sexual intercourse, said first portion 10 is adapted to provide a first support surface for example to one of the two partners while said second portion 20 is adapted to provide a second support surface, for example to the other partner.

[0022] In a preferred embodiment, the second portion 20 is suitable for continuously alternately translating along the longitudinal axis X-X between the rest position in which the second portion 20 and the first portion 10 are positioned substantially on the same plane and a rearward position in which the second portion 20 is distanced along the longitudinal axis X-X in relation to the first portion 10.

[0023] In a further embodiment, the first portion 10 is suitable for continuously alternately translating along the longitudinal axis X-X between said rest position, in which the first portion 10 and the second portion 20 are positioned substantially on the same plane and a forward position in which the first portion 10 is distanced along the longitudinal axis X-X in relation to the second portion 20.

[0024] In further embodiments, both portions are suitable for translating, simultaneously and/or independently of each other, alternately moving away and approaching each other along the longitudinal axis X-X.

[0025] According to a preferred embodiment, the strokes of said longitudinal translations along the longitudinal axis are variable. Preferably, the strokes are approximately in the order of a few centimetres, for example from a minimum of 2 cm to a maximum of 25 cm. Furthermore, the length of the strokes also depends on whether only one portion or both portions translate, in the embodiment in which both portions are movable/moved along the longitudinal axis X-X, the respective strokes are halved.

[0026] According to a preferred embodiment, the second portion 20 is further suitable for translating along the vertical axis Z-Z between said rest position and a lowered position in which the second portion 20 is lowered along the vertical axis Z-Z in relation to the first portion 10.

[0027] Preferably, the vertical stroke is in the order of some tens of centimetres, for example, is preferably between 10 and 60 cm.

[0028] According to a further preferred embodiment, the first portion 10 is suitable for translating along the vertical axis Z-Z between said rest position and a raised position in which the first portion 10 is raised along the vertical axis Z-Z in relation to the second portion 10 placed in rest position.

[0029] Preferably, the vertical stroke is in the order of some tens of centimetres, for example, is preferably between 10 and 60 cm.

[0030] Furthermore, according to the above description of the longitudinal movements, the length of the strokes also depends on whether only one portion or both portions translate, for example in the embodiment in which both portions are movable/moved along the vertical axis Z-Z, the respective strokes are halved.

[0031] Also, and especially in some embodiments, in said lowered position, the second portion is suitable for performing continuous alternating translations along the longitudinal axis X-X described above.

[0032] According to a preferred embodiment, bed 1 comprises specific movement means 200 specifically adapted to allow the above translations.

[0033] In other words, the movement means 200 comprise at least one longitudinal rectilinear guide 210, having the extension along said longitudinal axis X-X and operatively connected to said second portion 20 to allow said longitudinal translation thereof.

[0034] In order to impart greater stability and rigidity to the second portion 20, the longitudinal rectilinear guides 210 are at least two.

[0035] According to some embodiments, similarly to the above solution, the movement means 200 comprise at least one longitudinal rectilinear guide 210, having the extension along said longitudinal axis X-X and operatively connected to said first portion 10 to allow the translation thereof. Again also in this case, at least two guides 210 are provided in order to impart greater stability and rigidity to the first portion 10.

[0036] Preferably, the movement means 200 further comprise at least one vertical rectilinear guide 220 having the extension along said vertical axis Z-Z operatively connected to said second portion 20 and/or to said first portion 10 to allow said vertical translation thereof.

[0037] According to a preferred embodiment, the movement means 200 further comprise translation means 250 which operate respectively on the second portion 20 and/or on the first portion 10 to perform the aforesaid movements.

[0038] In particular, said translation means 250 are suitable for allowing the continuous and alternating translation between the rest position and the rearward position and/or the forward position, and for allowing the translation between the rest position and the lowered one .

[0039] Preferably, said translation means include rack and pinion systems; preferably the

[0040] racks are included and positioned within the above

[0041] longitudinal and/or transversal guides.

[0042] In further embodiments, the movement means 200 and the translation means 250 instead comprise generic devices comprising levers or similar mechanical systems, such as using the principle of the articulated parallelogram.

[0043] Preferably, the translation means further comprise at least one electric motor suitable for continuously alternately moving the second portion 20, possibly the first portion 10; for example, said electric motor is in fact connected to at least one pinion operatively connected with said racks, or in other embodiments, a linkage for moving the relative portion.

[0044] According to a further embodiment, the first portion 10 is also suitable for rotating about a longitudinal rotation axis X'-X1, parallel to the longitudinal axis X- X, but vertically distanced in relation to the plane of the rest position by a certain offset, preferably 10 cm, in such a way that the centre of rotation of the first portion 10 is higher than the plane in which the rest position is.

[0045] Preferably, the rotation stroke of the first portion reaches an angle of 30° per side relative to the plane in which it lies in its rest position, thus favouring the intercourse between the partners.

[0046] In other words, the movement of the first portion 10 is that of a pivot about the longitudinal rotation axis X'-X' .

[0047] In the embodiment in which also the first portion 10 is vertically movable, the longitudinal rotation axis X'- X' therefore has a vertical offset with respect to the plane in which the first portion 10 is in a raised position .

[0048] According to a preferred embodiment, the movements of the second portion 20 and/or of the first portion 10 are free or controlled by a control unit 300, in turn included in bed 1.

[0049] Preferably, the frequency and intensity of the same is controllable and programmable by means of the control unit 300.

[0050] For example, specific programs are provided which provide variations in the frequency and/or intensity of said movements.

[0051] Also, acceleration or deceleration along the strokes of the different movements are adjustable.

[0052] Preferably, the translatory movements of the first portion and/or the second portion have

[0053]

[0054] a frequency between 0.2 Hz and 10 Hz.

[0055] Preferably, the rotational movements of the first portion 10 have a frequency between 0.4 Hz and 2 Hz.

[0056] Thanks to the control unit 300, according to the embodiment of bed 1, i.e. according to which portions are movable and in what manner, one or more movements can be carried out simultaneously, such as a result of the positioning of the first portion 10 and second portion 20 on the vertical axis Z-Z, the first one rotates or pivots while the second one translates along the longitudinal axis X-X.

[0057] According to a preferred embodiment, moreover, the bed comprises armrests 30 positioned at the sides of the first portion 10 and of the second portion 20 suitable for providing fixed supports, for example being immobile in their position.

[0058] Said armrests 30 preferably extend along the entire length of bed 1 on the sides of both the first portion 10 and the second portion 20. [0059] Preferably, armrests 30 are also suitable for creating a containment zone within the bed, in particular for users positioned on the first portion and the second portion, serving as edges. In some embodiments, in fact, also armrests 30 are movable along the vertical axis Z-Z, and thus positionable in raised positions in relation to the first portion 10 and the second portion 20 serving as edges thereto.

[0060] According to a further preferred embodiment, bed 1 in the second portion 20 has a hollow support cavity 21 within it suitable for providing for example an additional support to the partner that acts on said portion: for example, the feet may be introduced in said hollow support cavity 21 creating a support for these.

[0061] According to some embodiments, the first portion 10 and/or the second portion 20 and possibly armrests 30 are covered with padding.

[0062] For example, mattresses are positioned on the first portion and/or on the second portion. Preferably, said mattresses are slightly curved in such a way as to be more enveloping towards the centre of the bed. Preferably, said mattresses and/or said generic padding is heat-deformable in such a way as to create a further sense of comfort.

[0063] Preferably, bed 1 also comprises a [0064] fixed structure 50 on which all the different components mentioned above are mounted.

[0065] Said structure 50 is suitable for providing further handholds for users during the use of the bed. Specifically, in fact, structure 50 includes a headboard 51, and/or handle positioned at the edge of bed 1, on said headpiece 51, on armrests 30.

[0066] Furthermore, bed 1, in order to make its use even more pleasant, in some embodiments further comprises a lighting system in which colours and intensities are programmable, and a sound system.

[0067] Innovatively, the bed of the present invention is suitable for assisting the execution of the sexual intercourse by assisting the reciprocal positioning and the movements between partners.

[0068] Advantageously, the movement of the different components of the bed allow assisting in the positioning and movements of the partners by reducing the energy expenditure due to the exercise; therefore, people with mobility difficulties or physical difficulties, such as older people or with disabilities, are advantageously assisted in sexual intercourse.

[0069] Moreover, advantageously, the exercise is supported thanks to the sliding and mobility of the various components up to being, in some embodiments, fully controllable thanks to the sliding and to the movements of the different components.

[0070] According to a further advantageous aspect, the bed is also programmable and the intensity and the frequency of movements controllable according to special programs and routines.

[0071] Advantageously, therefore, those who have mobility difficulties can be assisted in their movements as well as those who have different physical problems, such as breathing or heart difficulty, thanks to the assistance of the bed, they can have sex producing a physical effort during sexual intercourse which is significantly lower than what they would do without assistance.

[0072] Advantageously, the bed can be used even by those who do not have physical problems, and who therefore want to try a different and/or more intense sexual experience.

[0073] Advantageously, the bed can be programmed for users to live a full and diverse experience involving more senses, such as sight and

[0074] hearing.

[0075] According to a further advantageous aspect, the positions that can be taken by the bed, and thus thanks to the bed, are countless, thanks to the possibility of the various portions to perform translatory movements both horizontally and vertically, as well as rotationally. The versatility of the bed makes it very suitable for developing creative sexual exercise.

[0076] Advantageously, the bed turns out to be absolutely versatile given the opportunity to program it at will according to the user's desires.

[0077] A man skilled in the art may make several changes or replacements of elements with other functionally equivalent ones to the embodiments of the above bed in order to meet specific needs.

[0078] Or again, in further embodiments, the spatial arrangement of the various components is varied, so as to have, for example, a bed of different sizes and shapes, for example round.

[0079] In further embodiment variants, also the bed in its entirety is suitable for moving rotating on itself about the vertical axis and/or about the longitudinal axis.

[0080] Or again, the bed is also suitable for performing additional movements, for example embodiments are provided in which the first portion and/or the second portion are also rotatable about the transversal axis Y- Y, so that, preferably, they are movable to a new position not parallel to, but inclined, the rest position, or to the plane on which the bed lies. Advantageously also said movement assists the reciprocal positioning between the partners, adding the possibility to take a series of new positions. The addition of said new movement is obtainable thanks to special movement means in turn included in the bed in such a way that it is permitted and controlled; also in this case, in fact, by means of the control unit, the relative continuous rather than alternating rotation movements is programmable with different frequencies and speeds.

[0081] Also such variants are included within the scope of protection as defined by the following claims.

[0082] Moreover, each variant described as belonging to a possible embodiment may be implemented independently of the other variants.
