What is claimed is:1. A garment having detachable pocket, comprising:a pouch, attached to the garment and having a closure means; anda pocket which is detachably attached to the pouch by an attachment means;wherein the attachment means comprises a pouch attachment means and a pocket attachment means such that the pouch attachment means is constructed to detachably attach to the pocket attachment means; andwherein the pouch attachment means is located inside the pouch such that when the pouch attachment means is attached to the pocket attachment means and the pocket is not in use, the pocket can be rolled up onto the pouch and the closure means is closed to contain the pocket in the pouch.2. The garment of claim 1, wherein the attachment means is a plurality of snap fasteners.3. The garment of claim 1, wherein the closure means is a zipper.4. The garment of claim 1, wherein the garment further comprises a button and a buttonhole, one of which is formed on or attached to the pouch and the other of which is attached to or formed on the pocket.5. The garment of claim 1, wherein the pocket is constructed in size to snugly hold a mobile phone or a smart phone therein.6. The garment of claim 1, wherein the pocket further comprises an opening means.7. The garment of claim 6, wherein the opening means is a zipper.8. The garment of claim 1, wherein the pouch is formed from about waist of the garment.9. The garment of claim 1, wherein the pocket attachment means comprises a first pocket attachment means and a second pocket attachment means such that the pouch attachment means can be attached either to the first pocket attachment means or to the second pocket attachment means.10. A garment having detachable pocket, comprising:a pocket hole, formed on the garment and having a closure means; anda pocket which is detachably attached to the garment by an attachment means near the pocket hole;wherein the attachment means comprises a garment attachment means and a pocket attachment means such that the garment attachment means is constructed to detachably attach to the pocket attachment means; andwherein the garment attachment means is located near the pocket hole such that the pocket can snugly fit in the pocket hole when the garment attachment means is attached to the pocket attachment means, the closure means is open and the pocket is in use.11. The garment of claim 10, wherein the pocket hole is formed about waist of the garment.12. The garment of claim 10, wherein the attachment means is a plurality of snap fasteners.13. The garment of claim 10, wherein the attachment means is a button and a button hole.14. The garment of claim 10, wherein the closure means is a zipper.15. A detachable pocket for a garment, comprising:a pocket having a pocket attachment means; anda strap attached to the pocket wherein the strap has a strap attachment means;wherein the garment has a hole on its side and a garment attachment means;wherein the strap is received through the hole and the strap attachment means is attached to the garment attachment means.16. The detachable pocket of claim 15, wherein the pocket attachment means is a plurality of snap fasteners and the strap attachment means and the garment attachment means are snap fasteners.17. The detachable pocket of claim 15, wherein the strap is fixedly attached to the pocket by sewing.18. The detachable pocket of claim 15, wherein the pocket is attached to another garment of shorts, pants or trousers using the pocket attachment means.19. The detachable pocket of claim 15, wherein the pocket further comprises a detachable strap to be placed around a user's shoulder.

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application claims priority to U.S. provisional application No. 62/018,432 filed Jun. 27, 2014 which is incorporated herein by reference.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a garment having a detachable pocket. The detachable pocket can be attached to a pouch formed on the waist of pants or trousers.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention provides a garment having a detachable pocket.

The object of the present invention is to provide a garment having a detachable pocket to receive personal items such as a mobile phone. The detachable pocket is attached to the pouch of the garment by an attachment means such as snap fasteners, buttons, Velcro and so forth. The pouch is fixedly sewn to the waist seam of the garment.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a garment having detachable pocket, which includes a pouch, attached to the garment and having a closure means; and a pocket which is detachably attached to the pouch by an attachment means. The attachment means comprises a pouch attachment means and a pocket attachment means such that the pouch attachment means is constructed to detachably attach to the pocket attachment means. In addition, the pouch attachment means is located inside the pouch such that when the pouch attachment means is attached to the pocket attachment means and the pocket is not in use, the pocket can be rolled up onto the pouch and the closure means is closed to contain the pocket in the pouch.

Still another object of the present invention is to provide a garment having detachable pocket, which includes a pocket hole, formed on the garment and having a closure means; and a pocket which is detachably attached to the garment by an attachment means near the pocket hole. The attachment means comprises a garment attachment means and a pocket attachment means such that the garment attachment means is constructed to detachably attach to the pocket attachment means. In addition, the garment attachment means is located near the pocket hole such that the pocket can snugly fit in the pocket hole when the garment attachment means is attached to the pocket attachment means, the closure means is open and the pocket is in use.

The advantages of the present invention are: (1) the present invention is easy to manufacture and use, pleasing in appearance, and functionally superior by the use of a pocket; and (2) the detachable pocket of the present invention is convenient to receive a mobile phone therein and detachable or hidden from view if not in use.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION

Reference will now be made in detail to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this disclosure. It is to be understood that this invention is not limited to the specific devices, methods, conditions or parameters described and/or shown herein, and that the terminology used herein is for the purpose of describing particular embodiments by way of example only and is not intended to be limiting of the claimed invention.

Also, as used in the specification including the appended claims, the singular forms “a”, “an”, and “the” include the plural, and reference to a particular numerical value includes at least that particular value, unless the context clearly dictates otherwise. Ranges may be expressed herein as from “about” or “approximately” one particular value and/or to “about” or “approximately” another particular value. When such a range is expressed, another embodiment includes from the one particular value and/or to the other particular value. Similarly, when values are expressed as approximations, by use of the antecedent “about”, it will be understood that the particular value forms another embodiment.

The present invention relates to a garment 100 having a detachable pocket 20. The detachable pocket 20 is configured to receive small items such as a cell phone or a mobile phone. The garment may be a jacket, shirts, pants or trousers.

FIGS. 1(a1(e) show an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 1(a) shows a front view of a garment 100 having a detachable pocket 20 which is not shown. The detachable pocket 20 is preferably stored in the pouch 10.

FIG. 1(b) shows a left side view of the garment 100 showing the pouch 10 which is open. The pouch attachment means 11 and 12 are formed in the pouch 10. Preferably, the pouch attachment means 11 and 12 includes snap fasteners 11 and a button hole 12. A button may be used instead of the button hole 12.

Preferably, the pouch 10 is fixedly attached to the waist seam of the garment. The pouch 10 may be attached to the garment in a number of ways, including sewing. The pouch 10 may have a zipper 15 or other opening means. Preferably, the pouch 10 is attached to the right or left waist of the garment 100.

In FIG. 1(b), the pouch 10 is shown to have some thickness, but it can be made very thin enough to be hidden by a belt. The pouch 10 can be also made by the same material as the garment 100 to make it not much visible.

Snap fasteners and button is only one example of attachment means and other attachment means may be available, such as hook and loop fasteners (Velcro), zippers, buttons, snaps, etc.

FIG. 1(c) shows a rear view of a pocket 20. The pocket includes a pocket attachment means of snap fasteners 21 and a button 22. The pocket attachment means may be made of other means such as hook and loop fasteners, zippers, buttons, snaps, etc.

The pocket 20 has on opening means 25 such as a zipper 25. The zipper 25 may be formed on three sides of the detachable pocket 20, but it may be formed on only one side or two sides of the detachable pocket 20. In addition, there may be one or two zipper slides. The detachable pocket 20 is as big as to snugly contain a mobile phone therein.

FIGS. 1(d) and 1(e) show left side views of the garment 100 where the pocket 20 is attached to the pouch 10. The detachable pocket 20 may be attached vertically as shown in FIG. 1(e) or horizontally, (which is not described in the drawing).

Preferably, inside the pouch 10, there are two snap fasteners 11 and a buttonhole 12 between the snap fasteners. The detachable pocket 20 has corresponding snap fasteners 21 and the button 22 to be coupled with those of the pouch 10 for tightly securing the detachable pocket 20 to the pouch 10. Alternatively, the attachment means 11, 12 of the pouch 10 may be formed on the outside of the pouch 10. Snap fasteners and button is only one example of attachment means and other attachment means may be available, such as hook and loop fasteners (Velcro), zippers, buttons, snaps, etc.

In FIG. 1(e), the detachable pocket 20 can be rolled up onto the pouch 10 of the garment and the zipper 15 of the pouch 10 is zipped up in order for the pouch 10 to contain the pocket 20 therein. Preferably, the pouch 10 and the detachable pocket 20 are made of very thin material so that the pouch 10 having the detachable pocket 20 therein can be hidden by a belt worn by a user. The garment 100, pouch 10, and detachable pocket 20 may or may not be made of same material or fabric.

FIGS. 2(a2(c) show another embodiment of the present invention. Preferably, the garment 100 is a women's dress.

FIG. 2(a) shows a rear view of a women's dress 100 having a zipped pocket hole on about its waistline. The pocket hole is located on about the waist of the dress, preferably on the left or right side waist, or slightly rear side waist as shown in FIG. 2(a). The opening means of the pocket hole may a zipper 15, but it can be other means such as buttons, snaps, Velcro, etc. There is a button 12 on the dress 100 slightly above the zipper 15 of the pocket hole and the button 15 is to be coupled with a buttonhole of the detachable pocket 20.

FIG. 2(b) shows the detachable pocket 20 attached to about the pocket hole of the women's dress. In addition, FIG. 2(c) shows the detachable pocket 20 received in the pocket hole of the women's dress. The detachable pocket 20 may be on the outside as shown in FIG. 2(b), or it may be placed inside the pocket hole of the dress as shown in FIG. 2(c).

FIG. 3 shows still another embodiment of the present invention. The pouch 10 is integrally formed on about the front waistline of a garment as in FIG. 3. The pouch 10 is provided with an opening means 15 such as a zipper or snap fasteners and it contains personal items therein such as a mobile phone or a smart phone. The pouch 10 may be formed vertically as in FIG. 3 or horizontally and it may be located on the front waistline, side waistline, or rear waistline. Additionally, the pouch 10 may be formed on front side or rear side of a shirt or a jacket. Furthermore, the material for the pouch 10 may be the same as that for the garment 100.

FIGS. 4(a4(c) shows still another embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 4(a), an attachment means include two snap fasteners 11 and a button hole 12 and the pocket 20 includes corresponding two snap fasteners 21 and a button 22 so that the pouch 20 can be attached to the garment 100. Alternatively, the pouch 20 may have a button hole and the garment 100 may have a button. The attachment means is located on about the waistline of the garment 100 and the closing means of the pocket 20 is a zipper 25 or other suitable means.

FIGS. 5(a) and 5(b) show alternative embodiment of FIGS. 4(a4(c). Here, the attachment means is located on about side waist line of the garment and the pocket 20 is attached thereto. The attachment means comprises two snap fasteners 11 and a button hole 12 and the button hole is preferably placed in between the two snap fasteners 11.

FIGS. 6(a6(c) show alternative embodiment of the present invention in FIGS. 1(a1(e). Here, the pouch 20 is fixedly or detachably formed on about the front waistline of the garment 100 as shown in FIG. 6(a). The closure means 15 of the pouch 10 is preferably a zipper. If the zipper 15 is open, the pouch attachment means is shown, comprising two snap fasteners 11 and a button hole 12. The pocket attachment means of the pocket 20 is attached to the pouch attachment means as shown in FIG. 6(c). The pocket 20 may be attached vertically as in FIG. 6(c) or horizontally.

FIGS. 7(a) and 7(b) show still another embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 7(a) shows a pouch 10 attached to a garment 100 by a pair of straps 16. The pouch 10 has two straps 16 fixedly attached thereto and the straps 16 are fixed attached to about the waistline of the garment 100 preferably by sewing. One side of the pouch 10 is open to receive personal items such as a mobile phone and the closure means for the opening may be hook and loop fasteners (Velcro). The pouch 10 may be placed in the garment when it is not in use and taken outside to use it.

FIGS. 8(a8(d) show overalls 100 provided with a pocket 20 or a pouch 10. FIG. 8(a) shows overalls 100 having a pair of straps provided with an attachment means 11 and FIG. 8(b) shows a pocket 20 provided with a mating attachment means 21. Preferably, the attachment means is snap fasteners 11 and 21. FIG. 8(c) shows the pocket of FIG. 8(b) attached to the straps of FIG. 8(a). Alternatively, a pouch 10 may be fixedly formed on the overalls 100 as shown in FIG. 8(d). The material for the pocket 20 or the pouch 10 may be the same material for the garment 100.

FIG. 9(a) shows an attachment means 11 formed on a sleeve of a garment 100 and a pocket 20 is attached to the attachment means as shown in FIG. 9(b). Personal items such as a mobile phone or a smart phone may be received by the pocket 20. The pocket 20 may comprise a frame made of extendable strips.

FIG. 10(a) shows a pocket 20 with a detachable strap 30 and FIG. 10(b) shows the pocket 20 attached with the strap 30 by an attachment means 23. The pocket 20 may be attached to a garment by an attachment means 21 and 22 such as shorts, pants or trousers and a user places the strap 30 around his shoulder. Accordingly, the attachment means 21 and 22 and the strap 30 can tightly secure the pocket 20 in place. The strap 30 may be attached to narrower side of the pocket 20 and the pocket 30 may have an additional attachment means as shown in FIG. 11.

FIG. 11(a) shows a pocket 20 with a strap 30. The pocket 20 includes a first attachment means 21 and the strap 30 has a second attachment means 31. The pocket 20 is attached to shorts, pants or trousers by the first attachment means 21 and attached to a jacket or shirt by the second attachment means 31. The jacket or shirt may have a hole and an attachment means mating with the second attachment means 31. The strap 30 is placed through the hole and attached to the attachment means of the jacket or shirt. Alternatively, the strap 30 may be attached to inside of the jacket or shirt by an attachment means such as a hook as shown in FIG. 11(c).

The pocket may be integrally formed inside a garment or detachably attached to inner side of a garment. The pocket is in size suitable to contain or to snuggly contain personal items such as a mobile phone or a smart phone.

While the invention has been shown and described with reference to different embodiments thereof, it will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that variations in form, detail, compositions and operation may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the accompanying claims.
