摘要	A side shield (10) for eyeglasses (12) with a spring-hinge temple bar (28) comprising a side wall (38) having a rear edge (46), front edge (44), and inside surface (40). The side wall (10) has a relief structure (50) allowing outward deflection of the spring-hinge temple bar (28) when biased outwardly without significantly displacing the side shield (10) from its normal assembled position. A fastening structure (58) is located on the relief structure (50), which secures the relief structure (50) to the temple bar (28) of the eyeglasses (12).
