DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to the drawings, and initially to FIGS. 1 and 2, a gaseous lamp in accordance with the present invention comprises a housing 10 preferably including a post 11 extended downwardly therefrom for supporting the housing 10 at a suitable height above the ground, and preferably including a base plate 12 extended outwardly from the post 11, to stably support the post 11 and thus the housing 10 on the ground.

The housing 10 or the post 11 preferably includes one or more openings 13 formed in the lower portion thereof for such as air circulation purposes, and a door 14 pivotally attached to the lower portion thereof with one or more hinges 15 or the like, for inserting one or more hoses 16 into the post 11. The housing 10 preferably includes a casing or a lamp shade 17 attached or disposed thereon, and preferably made of transparent, or semi-transparent materials.

A control unit 20 is provided for controlling and/or generating flame, and may be received or secured within the housing 10, and includes a valve device 21 having a receptacle 22 which includes a fluid or gas passage 23 formed therein (FIG. 4), and which includes an outlet 25, and an inlet 24 coupled to the hose 16, for coupling to a gaseous reservoir, such as a natural gas supply station, a gas tank 18 (FIG. 1), a gas bottle (not shown), or the like. The valve device 21 includes a valve seat 26 provided in the fluid or gas passage 23 of the receptacle 22 (FIG. 4).

The valve device 21 further includes a control member 30, such as a solenoid control member 30 disposed in the receptacle 22, and includes a plunger core 31 slidably received in a coil 32 which may be energized to force the plunger core 31 to move relative to the coil 32, and a valve member 33 attached to the plunger core 31, and moved in concert with the plunger core 31, for being moved by the plunger core 31 to selectively enclose or block the valve seat 26 of the receptacle 22, and thus to selectively block the fluid or gas passage 23 of the receptacle 22 (FIG. 4).

The control unit 20 includes a tube 27 coupled to the outlet 25 of the receptacle 22 of the valve device 21, and the tube 27 includes a bore 28 formed therein, for supplying the gas outwardly through the tube 27, and a guide flap 29 attached to the tube 27, to shield and/or to guide the flame generated by the gas flowing out through the bore 28 of the tube 27. The solenoid control member 30 may be used to selectively block the valve seat 26 or the gas passage 23 of the receptacle 22, to control the gas to flow out through the bore 28 of the tube 27.

The control unit 20 further includes a control circuit or control device 40 electrically coupled to the solenoid control member 30, one or more batteries 41 coupled to the control device 40, to energize the control device 40 and the solenoid control member 30 and the other electric members or parts, and a switch 42 coupled to the control device 40, to control the solenoid control member 30, and thus to control the flowing of the gas out through the bore 28 of the tube 27. The switch 42 includes a button 43 to be depressed or actuated by the users.

One or more brackets or frames 50, 51 may be secured to the receptacle 22 of the valve device 21 with one or more fasteners 52, and may be secured to the housing 10, for attaching or securing the receptacle 22 of the valve device 21 to the housing 10. One of the frames 51 may include a panel 53 extended therefrom and having one or more orifices 54 formed therein (FIG. 2), for receiving the tube 27, and the other members or parts.

An electric rod 60 may also be engaged through or supported in one of the orifices of the panel 53, and is electrically coupled to the control device 40, for being controlled by the control device 40 to generate sparks, and thus to ignite the gas flowing out through the bore 28 of the tube 27, and thus to generate flames. The guide flap 29 of the tube 27 preferably partially extends into the lamp shade 17, to allow the flames to be seen through the lamp shade 17.

A probe or a temperature detector 61 may also be engaged through or supported in one of the orifices of the panel 53, and may also be electrically coupled to the control device 40, for being controlled by the control device 40 to detect the temperature of the flames generated by the gas flowing out through the bore 28 of the tube 27.

For example, when the temperature detector 61 detects no great temperature of flames when the button 43 of the switch 42 is depressed or actuated by the users, the control device 40 may actuate the control member 30 to enclose or to block the valve seat 26 or the gas passage 23 of the receptacle 22, to shut off the gas and to prevent the gas from continuously flowing out through the bore 28 of the tube 27.

In operation, when the button 43 of the switch 42 is depressed or actuated by the users, the control device 40 may actuate the control member 30 to open the valve seat 26 or the gas passage 23 of the receptacle 22, to allow the gas to flow out through the bore 28 of the tube 27. The control device 40 may also actuate the electric rod 60 to generate sparks, and thus to ignite the gas flowing out through the bore 28 of the tube 27 and then to generate flames. The flames may be seen through the transparent or semi-transparent lamp shade 17.

The temperature detector 61 may be used to detect the temperature of the flames generated by the gas flowing out through the bore 28 of the tube 27, and may be used as a safety control device to send a warning message or signal to the control device 40 when the flames are blown out inadvertently or the like, or when no gas is supplied out through the bore 28 of the tube 27, or when the temperature detector 61 detect no temperature that are supposed to be generated by the flames. The control device 40 may then actuate the control member 30 to enclose or to block the valve seat 26 or the gas passage 23 of the receptacle 22, to shut off the gas and to prevent the gas from continuously flowing out through the bore 28 of the tube 27, and to prevent explosions from being occurred.

Accordingly, the gaseous lamp in accordance with the present invention includes a simplified control device to easily and safely control the gaseous lamp, and to prevent the dangerous gaseous materials from flowing out inadvertently, and to prevent explosions from being generated by leaking and dangerous gaseous materials.

Although this invention has been described with a certain degree of particularity, it is to be understood that the present disclosure has been made by way of example only and that numerous changes in the detailed construction and the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
