摘要	PURPOSE:To prevent the drying of the surrounding ground of a water drain device by a method in which a space is formed below a trench on which a water drain device is to be placed, the openings at both ends of the space are closed with a cover with a through hole to form a supporting base, and water is stored in the space and oozing into the ground during a dry season. CONSTITUTION:A long supporting base body 16 of a nearly M-shaped cross section is integrally molded with a synthetic resin, and paired left and right spaces 20 are formed inside lower plates 24 constituting the inclined walls 18, left and right-handed side walls 19, and the bottom of the body 16. Then, the openings at both ends of the spaces 20 are closed with a cover 26 with a small through hole 30. In setting a water drain device, the supporting base is set, a drain pipe 8 is set in a trench 40, and the trench 17 is embedded with soil. Thus, water under the ground is discharged through a conduit 8 but part of the water flows into the spaces 20 through the through holes 30 and is stored. When the surrounding ground is dried, the water stored oozes the ground through the through holes 30 to prevent the overdrying of the surface layer of the ground.
