| A support frame for receiving and retaining a panel of glass as part of a wall or door assembly. This support frame includes an integrally, formed body of uniform cross section and unibody construction having (i) a pair of opposing side walls joined by (ii) an interconnecting support bridge which extends between opposing inner faces of the side walls and includes an upper and a lower face. The inner faces of the side walls and upper face of the support bridge define a channel configured to receive the panel of glass at one edge. The support bridge includes a recessed slot formed into one of the faces to sufficient depth to form a hinge axis operable with respect to the opposing side walls for enabling rotational displacement of the inner faces against the inserted glass panel in a gripping manner. Screws are inserted through an opening in one side wall into a threaded opening in the second side wall and operate to draw the two side walls into gripping contact at the glass panel. | ||||||

| A metal frame and glass panel structure comprises a metal shoe having a receiving channel therein, the receiving channel having at least one smooth side surface and an opposite side surface spaced apart from said smooth side surface; a glass panel positioned within the channel against the smooth side surface and spaced apart from the opposite side surface; at least two independent expandable pressure units positioned within the channel between the glass panel and the opposite side surface of the channel; and means within the pressure units for generating a pressure against the opposite side surface of the channel whereby the pressure units are forced against the glass panel to secure the glass panel within the channel. A pair of adjustment screws is provided in the channel, upwardly extending from the bottom thereof, for squaring the glass panel with the shoe. | A system is provided for pivotally mounting opposed ends of a door panel between a pair of frame or shelf members. The system utilizes a pair of panel-engaging members which have U-shaped cross sections and which receive the door panel ends. Each of the panel-engaging members has a pair of spaced leg portions interconnected by a base portion. A pair of elongate cylindrical projections extends from the base portions to define a pivot axis of the door panel. A pair of projection-receiving formations is provided on the frame members for journaling the projections. At least one of the projection-receiving formations takes the form of an adjustably positioned bearing structure. The panel-engaging members are preferably formed as elongate extrusions of plastics material. One of the panel-engaging members is provided with a handle formation for facilitating movement of the door panel. A first detent element is provided on one of the panel-engaging members and is cooperable with a second detent element carried by one of the frame members. In preferred practice, the first detent element takes the form of a recess provided in the outer surface of the base portion of the one panel-engaging member, and the second detent element is receivable in the recess to releasably retain the door panel in its closed position. In alternate practice, the first detent element takes the form of a magnetic receptor plate secured to a leg portion of the one panel-engaging member and being cooperable with a magnetic catch carried on the one frame member. | ||||||

| A self-draining, leak-resistant boat window comprising a frame body having a continuous mounting flange for engagement with the hull of the boat, and a spigot wall connected with the flange and adapted to extend through an opening in the hull. A transparent molded plastic window pane is hingedly carried on the body; latches are provided to secure the pane in a closed position. The mounting flange has a peripheral groove into which a rib portion of an extruded, hollow sealing gasket is pressed. The rib portion has longitudinal barbs which frictionally engage the walls of the groove, thereby holding the gasket captive without cement. The gasket is oval in cross-section and is stretched an extent when installed on the window to thereby prevent buckling at the corners. When it is pressed between the flange and window pane it flattens a considerable amount by virtue of its oval shape, forming a tight seal.Self-draining occurs, by virtue of one part of the spigot wall being sloped, which channels water outward and downward. Water is prevented from being trapped in the space between the spigot and pane, since this area is virtually completely filled by the gasket when it is compressed by the pane. | ||||||

| A glass panel is hingedly mounted for swinging movement about a structure which serves as a hinge and also as a weatherstrip. The glass panel has a substantially linear edge to which is bonded a cylindrical element, the edge of the glass panel extending into the cylindrical element for a substantial portion of a diameter. A resilient element which serves as a weatherstrip is mounted in any suitable manner on the frame, and is provided with a socket which presents a circular cross section. The cylindrical element on the linear edge of the glass panel fits into the socket thus provided in the weatherstrip, and the glass panel is thus swingable relative to the weatherstrip and frame about the axis of the cylindrical element.
