Liquid concentrates, suitable for the preparation of cleaning solutions for metal surfaces, contain at least 20% dissolved solids by weight and comprise an aqueous solution of about 15-25% of an alkali metal hydroxide, about 35-45% of an alkali metal silicate, about 1-5% of an organic sequestrant, and about 2-15% of an anionic surfactant. Cleaning compositions prepared by dissolution of these concentrates in water, particularly compositions consisting essentially of the recited ingredients, are useful for cleaning metal surfaces prior to phosphating.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device having an active material deposited by applying an active material for an organic electronic device to an active surface.SOLUTION: An electronic device is an organic electronic device including at least one first active layer and at least one second active layer including at least one active material. In the organic electronic device, (a) the active material in the second active layer is deposited on the first active layer from a liquid composition having a contact angle with the first layer of about 40° or less; or (b) the first active layer having an active surface is treated such that a surface tension thereof after treatment is greater than that before treatment, and the liquid composition is deposited on the active surface of the first active layer, the liquid composition containing at least one active material and a liquid medium having a surface tension that is greater than the first surface tension of the selected active surface; or (c) both (a) and (b) are practiced on the same first active layer or different first active layers.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low irritant detergent compsn. which has a high power for cleaning oily dirts, is excellent in cleaning with water, and is also excellent in the feeling in use. SOLUTION: This compsn. contains an anionic surfactant (A) having an acyl group, two long chains, and tow polar groups, and anionic surfactant (B) having one chain and one polar group, at least two nonionic surfactants (C) having branched alkyl groups, a polyhydric alcohol (D), and a high-molecular silicone compd. (E) in a wt. ratio of (A+B)/C of 100-0.1 and in a concn. of the sum of A, B, and C of 0.05-70wt.%.

PURPOSE: To improve the performance of a pressure sensitive adhesive in the use for refrigerators by formulating a surfactant comprising a block copolymer of ethylene oxide/propylene oxide to a polymer as a component of the adhesive. CONSTITUTION: The performance of a pressure sensitive adhesive at temperatures below 0°F is improved by formulating about 0.5 - about 20 wt.% based on the total weight of the composition, a surfactant comprising a block copolymer of ethylene oxide/propylene oxide to a polymer constituting the adhesive. The molecular weight of the block copolymer of ethylene oxide/ propylene oxide is preferably in the range of about 1,500 - about 4,000. COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
