CONSTITUTION: The bioreactor 3 is furnished with the inlet 31, the outlet 32 and the stirrer 33, and the outlet 32 is furnished with the material amount-controlling apparatus 1 consisting of a membrane 11 which acts as a valve, the electrode 12 and 13, and the electrical voltage controlling device 14. The membrane 11 is made of a polymer having electrical charge at the terminal group. For example, when immobilized invertase 34 is placed in the bioreactor 3, and sucrose solution is introduced into the reactor through the inlet 31, the sucrose is inverted into glucose and fructose. By applying electrical voltage to the membrane 11 through the electrodes 12, 13 by the electrical voltage controlling device 14, only glucose and fructose are passed through the membrane 11 and the escape of sucrose and immobilized invertase from the bioreactor 3 is inhibited.
