CONSTITUTION: A multiplicity of groove-form refrigerant paths 13 are parallel provided in taper form to one side face of two sheets of aquare-form plate materials 2 and both end faces are applied with plane edge preparation 14, after which with the paths 13 are bent on the inner side, the plate materials are bent and butted to square barrel form and the butted parts 15 are mated with the paths 13 being connected at their end parts 16, 16 to themselves, thence the mated parts 15 are subjected to electron beam welding, whereby a square barrel body 17 is obtained. Thence, both the top and the bottom end parts of the square barrel body 17 are edge prepared, after which the bottom ends are welded at a dome 23 to make an outer shell 24, the inner shell 28 bonded with a dome 27 having a refrigerant effluent port to the lower part one-size smaller than the outer shell 24 is fitted to the outer shell 24 and the portions between the both shells 24, 25 are subjected to electron beam welding 29 between the paths 13, 13 to prevent the leakage of the coolant, after which a cover, influent and effluent ports, etc. are provided to the top end part, whereby the captioned barrel part suited for the bracket vessel or the like of nuclear fusion reactors is obtained.
