For example, when an operator selects deposition by transaction-kind selection key 9, the ten-digit numeric keys and unit assignment keys are unneeded, and consequently cover 15 stays closed, so that automatic teller machine 1 will serve as a dedicated teller machine. Once payment is selected by key 9, cover 15 is opened as shown by arrow (a) to expose the internal ten-digit numeric keys and unit assignment keys and an user can assign the amount of payment by those keys.
