PURPOSE:To obtain high resolving power and high speed responsibility by dividing a half-step driving control output value by 2 to obtain the quotient and remainder, and performing full-step driving by the amount of the quotient and half-step driving by the amount of the remainder being based on the current excitation holding condition of a step motor. CONSTITUTION:The quotient and surplus are obtained by dividing a half-step driving control output value for driving a step motor 3 by two, being based on the current excitation holding condition of the step motor. Full-step driving is performed by the amount of the quotient, and half-step driving by the amount of the surplus. That is, by most of the control output value for driving the step motor 3 the full-step driving is performed, and the half-step driving by the amount of the fraction. These drivings are performed matching with the current excitation holding condition of the step motor 3. Thus, high speed responsibility by the full-step driving and high resolving power by the half-step driving can be obtained simultaneously.
