The desktop ads and messages display process concerns displaying ads of messages on the end user's desktop, detecting end user activity, and responding the various local events on the PC. The process will allow marketing ads to run on a computer without using internet pop-up windows. It will also allow display ads based on contextual information, like specific time of day or a specific PC end user action.

The service agent(22) is a plug-in program which is downloaded and installed by the user terminal(20) connected to a web site being operated by the operator server(30). The service agent(22) is resided in a storing unit(21) of the user terminal(20) and executed. The service agent(22) includes a skinning module(23) for analyzing the advertising data pushed from the operator server(30), storing and managing the data, and preparing for displaying a corresponding advertisement on a screen, a display module(24) for expressing and supporting the advertising data, and a service control module(25) for supporting a service function to the window.

A system and method for inserting and distributing commercial advertising to wireless phone subscribers. The system and method also allows for information gathering from participating subscribers. A subscriber enters a user profile either when initially signing up for service or through an interactive menu on the phone handset (330). Through phone registration messages transmitted as overhead messages within the wireless network (320) the network (320) is roughly able to determine the location of the phone (330). The system transmits advertising messages to the user at call origination based upon the user profile and cell location. The system may use the subscriber location to decide to transmit messages to the user phone that will launch a browser (336) like application within the phone (330). The browser (336) would then display textual or graphical advertisements on the handset display. Additionally, the system could initiate browser pop-up polling queries in which the user could offer responses. The phone (330) would use packetized data transmission to transmit the responses back to the base station (320). The system would then accumulate and process the various user responses. The system could also use location information to selectively transmit electronic coupon offers to local subscribers.

A network advertising system and method includes a network server, a computer user, pop data packet, multiple web page files, and a display. The pop data packet includes user viewable data, launch command language, status command language, and failure command language. The present system ensures that user viewable data intended for display in a pop window is actually displayed. The system determines whether or not a pop window was opened and whether or not the user viewable data was displayed in the pop window. Optionally, the system also determines whether or not the user viewable data was displayed for at least a minimum predefined period of time. If either of these conditions occurs, the failure command language directs display of the user viewable data by alternate means. Optionally, the failure command language directs the end user computer to download another pop data packet or user viewable data packet for display in a pop window.

Upon returning the content, a viewer thereof can view the content normally, but certain events with respect to the trigger points can cause tooltip type display of the advertisement (such as hovering a cursor over the trigger point). The detection sensor groups A-E issue a 12cm CD mode and 8cm CD mode command and hold and release the attraction of a solenoid. Simultaneously, they issue a loading and ejecting command to a loading motor and the driving roller 4 is rotated in normal and reverse directions. Then, when the CD which is inserted is the 8cm CD, stopper arms 12 and 12 are attracted and held by the solenoid and the attraction of the solenoid is released when it is a 12cm CD.
