摘要 | PURPOSE: To make a missile launchable front a container without receiving any relatively strong reaction force, by launching the missile front the front end of the container by pressuring a piston to drive the missile by means of a propellant gas generator, and, at the same time, by giving a reverse inertia force to the missile by ejecting the gas from the gas generator backward from the aft end of the container through a nozzle. CONSTITUTION: A missile 12 is brought into contact with a piston 20. When a propellant fuel 34 is ignited, a high-pressure gas 38 moves a piston 20 by sliding the piston 20 on the inner end of the missile 12 and launches the missile 12 from the front end of a container by driving the missile 12. Since the piston 20 is substantially sealed to the internal wall of the container, most or all of the high-pressure gas 38 does not pass through the piston 20 and all forward forces are utilized to move the piston 20 and missile 12. Part of the gas generated from a gas generator which drives the piston 20 moves backward through the hole of the container and is ejected from the aft end 16 of the container, generating a counterforce which is given to the missile 12.
