PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device minimizing cigarette sidestream smoke and reducing free-burn rate of a burning cigarette.
SOLUTION: This device for minimizing the cigarette sidestream smoke and reducing the free-burn rate of the burning cigarette comprises a tubular element encasing an effective length of a tobacco charge of a cigarette located in a non-combustible tubular element and a means for minimizing sidestream smoke emission from a burning tobacco charge and reducing free-burn rate of such burning tobacco charge to increase the number of smoking puffs from the burning tobacco charge. Thereby, the sidestream of a burning cigarette or cigar can be decreased.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |

PURPOSE: To obtain a sheath for preventing cigarette ash from falling, being readily and simply attached to a cigarette and a cigarette with a sheath for preventing ash from falling, having thickness not so changed from that of a conventional cigarette. CONSTITUTION: Plural cuts 4 extending approximately at a right angle based on its one side direction are made at intervals S. Plural uneven stripes 5 obtained by alternately projecting space between the cuts 4 upward and downward from one end 1a side in one side direction are arranged in the other side direction to form a rectangular heat-resistant sheet 1. The sheet 1 is wound on the outer peripheral edge of a cigarette 2 so as to make the one side direction be approximately coincident with the bus of a cylindrical cigarette 2 and the uneven stripe 5 close to one side of the sheet 1 is engaged with the uneven stripe 5 close to the other side to constitute a sheath for preventing ash from falling. A cigarette with a sheath for preventing ash from falling comprises a heat-resistant sheath provided with the uneven stripes 5 arranged in parallel in the peripheral direction and a cigarette engaged with the heat-resistant sheath. |

PURPOSE: To provide a cigarette filter which decreases the smell of smoke when a cigarette is put off by arranging a capsule containing a deodorant for decreasing the smell of smoke to generate after smoking in a specified state inside a filter material.
CONSTITUTION: A capsule 2 to be positioned inside the fiber of cigarette filter 1 such as cellulose acetate fiber is composed of a beeswax wall 3 surrounding the solution of deodorant 4. When taking a cigarette out of a packet and lighting it, the capsule is not ruptured by manual handling but when the cigarette is put off, that capsule is ruptured so that the deodorant is released inside the filter.

A member is provided for conducting heat from a combustible fuel element to an 'aerosol' generator which includes aerosol-forming material. The conducting member is spaced from the lighting end of the fuel element by at least 5 mm., and can circumscribe both the fuel element and generator, at least partially. Alternatively, the conductor contacts the fuel element along less than approx. half its length, e.g. it is embedded within it. Pref. the fuel element has a length of less than approx. 30 mm and has a density of about 0.5 g/cc. |

PURPOSE: To obtain an aerosol generating means using for a smoking goods by composing the means of a carrier formed by the compressed particles of carbon, a tobacco material, or the mixture of the carbon and the tobacco material, and also an aerosol generating agent composed of the carbon, hydrogen and oxygen carried by the carrier.
CONSTITUTION: Smoking goods have the same whole size as a conventional cigarette, a short combustible element 10, an aerosol generating means 12 and a cigarette holding end 15 consisting of a paper cylinder 14 having the lining of a foil therein. A fuel element 10 is formed by extruding or molding in a cast from the mixture containing a crushed tobacco material or a recomposed tobacco material or a substitute for a tobacco material, or a small amount of a combustible carbon, and has a longitudinal hole 16. The aerosol generating means 12 has a passage 17 and a porous carbonic body 13 impregnated with an aerosol generating agent. A paper cylinder 14 consisting of a cigarette holding end segment 15, and the aerosol generating means 12 and the rear non-combustible end of the fuel element is surrounded by the paper cylinder 14. The cylinder 14 consists of the aerosol generating means 12 and an aerosol conveying passage 18 between the aerosol generating means 12 and the fuel and the cigarette holding end segment 15.

PURPOSE: To obtain the smoking goods generating an aerosol similar to a tobacco smoke, of a less incomplete combustion, and the more smaller content of a thermally decomposed product than a normal cigarette by preferably forming them into a cigarette shape.
CONSTITUTION: Smoking goods have the same whole size as a conventional cigarette, and comprise a short combustible element 10, an aerosol generating means 12 and the paper cylinder 14 of a cigarette holding end 15. A fuel element 10 is formed by a cracked tobacco material and the mixture of containing a few amount of a combustible carbon, and has a longitudinal hole 16. The aerosol generating means 12 has a passage 17 and a porous carbon body 13 impregnated with an aerosol generating agent. The paper cylinder 14 comprises an aerosol conveying passage 18, and then the quantity of a heat transmission toward the aerosol generating means is increased causing by the existence of the paper cylinder 14 for connecting the non-combustible end of the fuel element 10. The plug of the tobacco material, i.e., an inserting body 20 is contained for adding an aroma into the aerosol; as an optional selection. A filter plug 22 is inserted into the cigarette holding end 15.

PURPOSE: To display an internal thermal state in the length direction of non- burnable smoking tool by providing a pattern material of thermal display substance causing visual change in a predetermined temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A heat display objects 16 are printed as a series of small points, and they are printed on from an end 14 of a smoking tool 10 along the length. When the smoking tool 10 is ignited or initially heated by the other way, the end 14 is most hot and gradually cooled down to a filter 12. When a smoker smokes the end 14, air is sucked through the end 14, and the air is heated by passing through an internal heat source, then an aerosol discharged from an aromatic source arranged within the smoking tool 10 is sucked from the filter 12 into the smoker's mouth. This aerosol makes to rise temperature over a length of the smoking tool 10 according to the smoking. As a gradient of internal temperature is advanced in a smoking end direction according to the advance of the smoking, initially the display object 20 is colorfully developed, and sequentially the display object 22 is going to develop a color in order. Like this way, the smoker is noticed that the smoking tool is still hot, i.e., still actuating.
