CONSTITUTION: A raw mudstone which is a naturally occurring porous clay mineral having a wide space between particles is mined, transferred and shelved in a hot-air dryer and predried. After the moisture of the raw mudstone is reduced to 22W25% (optionally by the natural drying), the stone is crushed by a crusher, and dehumidified and dried to a moisture content of 10W15% while being fed continuously to a direct heating dryer, e.g. a rotary kiln. The dried stone is then pulverized by a feed grinder or hammer mill to a particle size of 30W50 mesh and not to destory the components contained therein. A paste nontoxic to men and cattle is added thereto, and the resultant mixture is kneaded and granulated in a screw feeder granulator and then dried to give the aimed material.
