Subsequently, the jet aerator 3 is stopped and sewage is introduced into the treatment tank up to a high water level H perfectly immersing the rotary discs 2a by a sewage inflow apparatus 4 to perform denitrifying treatment. The jet aerator 3 is again operated in the high water level state to perform aeration operation generating the recirculation flow and aeration of sewage in the treatment tank 1. Thereafter, the jet aerator 3 is stopped to generate sedimentation action and supernatant water is extracted through a supernatant water discharge apparatus 5.
