High- concn. org. waste water such as barn waste water is firstly charged into the treating vessel 1 and agitated by an agitator 4 to sufficiently mix the water and activated sludge. Then air is discharged by a blower B and a diffuser means 3 to aerate the waste water. The sludge is settled, and untreated water is introduced into the vessel 1 by a liq. hydrogen donor pump 5 to anaerobically treat the water. Aeration is further carried out to remove the remaining org. matter and to nitrify an ammoniacal component.
