CONSTITUTION: An inner cylinder 2 with the upper end and the lower end opened is arranged in an aeration vessel 1 and a diffuser 3 for upwardly spouting a gas is provided at almost the central position in the vertical direction in the inner cylinder 2. A throttle mechanism 4 for reducing the cross-sectional area in the inner cylinder 2 is furnished in the vicinity of the diffuser 3. A regulating weir 5 capable of being vertically moved is provided at the upper part of the inner cylinder 2 so that the weir is continuously brought into close contact with the inner cylinder 2. Namely, since continuous activated-sludge treatment of a moving bed system is made possible, the capacity for decomposing org. matter can be improved, the supply energy necessary for decomposing org. matter, namely the aeration power, is saved, and the denitrification performance can be improved.
