CONSTITUTION: A rocking cylinder 20 is set up between an idler 17, where a belt 28 is pressed, and a fixed part side. A viscous member is sealed in this rocking cylinder 20, while a first spring 23 is interposed between this member and the rocking cylinder, and a second spring 27 is interposed between the idler 17 and the rocking cylinder 22. At time of a tension variation due to expansion or contraction of the belt, an eccentric member 16 of the idler 17 is rotated by these springs 23, 27 and thereby tension is quickly kept in the specified value. Vibration in the belt 28 is absorbed by the spring 27, and any variation larger than the vibration is absorbed by a damper action by the first spring 23 and viscous oil O.
