CONSTITUTION: A fungicide for agricultural and horticultural cultivation, containing an O-alkyl-N-phenylthiocarbamate derivative of formula III (X is halogen; R is 1W12C alkyl; n is 0W3) obtained by reacting e.g. a phenylthioisocyanate of formula I with an alcohol of formula II at normal temperature or with heating. The compound of formula can be used as it is or as dust, wettable powder, emulsifiable concentrate, etc. by mixing with a carrier, etc. The fungicide is effective to rice blast, helminthosphorium leaf spot, and sheath blight of rice plant as well as powdery mildew, gray mold, anthracnose, sclerotinia rot, downy mildew, etc. of green vegetables, fruit trees, and other agricultural and horticultural crops.
