CONSTITUTION: The gate 5 connecting to the cavity 4 of metallic molds 1, 2 is formed to the same sectional area as the sectional area of a runner 6 connecting thereto. A hydraulic cylinder 24 is embedded into the movable mold 2 near each gate 5A and the sectional area of the gate 5A is changed during one injection cycle. A movable piece 28 is mounted to a piston rod 27 of the cylinder 24 and is advanced to and reatreated from the root part in the gate 5A so that the sectional area thereof is expanded or reduced. The piece 28 is advanced when the pressure on the head end side of an injection cylinder 11 attains a prescribed value. The sectional area of the gate 5A is increased in the initial period of the injection to increase the injection speed to a high speed according to the above-mentioned mechanism. The pressure is quickly propagated to the molten metal in the cavity 4 by decreasing the sectional area of the gate 5A in the mid-way of injection.
